26 July Giles returns to Lebanon.
7 Aug Ministry come to Wvlt,
13 Aug Ministry go to SF to see the family "relative to removal
of Henry George. It is a universal desire to have him
removed."
17 Aug Giles goes to Lebanon to "introduce Henry George to the
Central Family" for a home.
21 Aug (NL) Henry George arrives. Giles introduces him to Center
Family, then returns to Wvlt.
23 Aug Giles goes to SF to see Theodore Wicks, "he pretends to
want a privilege as a Shaker." Not much encouragement.
30 Aug Giles catches 15 Ibs. of black bass before breakfast.

3 Sept. Canning tomatoes, Ministry all help prepare fruit.

16 Sept Ministry go to WF to help prepare tomatoes for canning.
18 Sept Ministry return to Lebanon;'.
15 Oct (Ohio) North Union moved to Watervliet, Ohio, but 5 went
to Union Village. Elace now for sale; Benj. Gates is
trying to get a NY syndicate to buy it. (Sold for $287,000.)

22 Oct (NL) Elder Hervey Eads was moved from South Union to
Pleasant Hill, but declines to stay there.

13 Nov Ministry come *.-to Wvlt.
16 Nov Elder Daniel cuts 3 trees for basket stuff. Giles goes
to NF to see Geo. Price who is dangerously sick.
21 Nov Eldress Harriet & Giles work at SF preparing codfish &
potatoes for canning--a new business being tried.
2 Dec Giles cracks butternuts for the sisters to make comfits.
5 Dec Elder Daniel has two hired men pounding basket stuff;
Giles works on drafting another bean machine.

8 Dec Go to SF to hear Abial Hathaway1s will & get agreement to
use some of it to build a barn on SF River farm.
18 Dec Ministry return to Lebanon.
