RECORDS KEPT BY ORDER OF THE CHURCH

1790
14 June "The church having gathering a large number of boys and
there being but few at Watervliet, it was judged expedient
to send a part of them there." Accordingly Ebenezer Bishop
took David Miller, Levi Pease, Nathan Spier, Francis Goodrich, Abel
Robinson & David Sumrnins.
1 July Father Joseph, Jethro Turner & Joseph Bennet went to Wvlt
& raised a building for a bake house.
24 July Father Joseph, Henry Clough, Mother Lucy, Thankful Hamlin
& Desire Turner came to Wvlt. Returned to NL on Aug. 5.
After this, through 1791, Ministry came to Wvlt about every month,
usually staying about 6 days.
21 Sept, 1791 Jethro Turner & Desire Turner came to Wvlt to live.
9 Apr 1792 Anne Mathewson went to Wvlt to be elder in CF with
Timothy Hubbard. & also elders of Society there.
Lebanon CF established; had 214 people, 109 males, 105 females,
average age 24 years.
The first writt_en covenant prepar^ed & signed by members in 1795.
1796
25 July Ministry came to Wvlt. Father Joseph taken back to NL
on Aug. 3 as he was very ill. On Aug. 9, came to Wvlt to
get Mother Lucy. Father Joseph died Aug. 16, aged 55.
2 Nov Brethren took 280 young apple trees from Leb. Nursery to
set out at Wvlt.
1797
1 Feb Some of the brethren of Nathan Cole's family, West house,
were summoned before Samuel Jones Esq. upon a suspicion of
murder being committed there. Which resulted in proving
that the alarm originated from the squealing of hogs.
Such was the enmity & jealousy of their neighbors at that
period against the Believers.
1801
25 Aug David Osborn resigned as Trustee of CF at NL & moved to
Wvlt to be first TrusteeTof CF.
