22nd Mon Washed the Early Cluster cucumber seed Continue puting up seeds for the North

23d Tues Drew one load sand for packing roots Finished washing bell pepper seed

24th Wed Threshed some Red Onion seed Continue puting up seeds

25th Thurs Cleaned up some red onion Threshed and cleaned the celery and brought in
the carrot seed to thresh Commenced washing Early Cucumber seeds

26th Fri. Cleaned the carrot seed, washed some Early Cucumber seed. Continue puting
up seeds in shop

27th Sat Let Philemon Stewart have 1 bushel China Beans and put in our book. He also
took at the same time one bushel sweet corn of Thomas Estes, I note ithere
lest it should be forgotten afterwards placed iton book being so directed by
Clawson

28th Sab Publ ick Meeting

29th Mon Finished puting up the seeds for Plattsburg Warrensburg etc. and commenced
boxing Rainy day

30th Tues Continue boxing seeds for the Northern Route

31st Wed Pulled the cabbage & put them in Brickshop cellar, drumhead on the west,
Early York on thejbast side

November
1st Thurs* Finished boxing up seeds for the Northern Route except the home load
Drew from the field some casks of seeds

2nd Fri Washed 4 hogsheads cucumber seeds and some carrot seed

3d Sat Brought home 24 bushels Turnips from George Holcombs and put them in the
cellar. Clawson loaded his waggon with the seeds for Plattsburg

4th Sab Publ ick meeting

5th Mon Clawson started this morning for Albany with the Plattsburg seeds

6th Tues Commenced packing Root in the Cellar, one pile Blood Beets on the east,
next 2 pile Turnip Beets, then 2 pile Scarsity Beets

We think that the best way to pack Roots in the cellar that we have found is
to take 2 wide boards and if boards cannot be found wide enough let 2 boards
be put together with cleats Set the boards as far apart as you wish to have
