18th Hoeing & thinning & weeding small plants/ etc. etc.

19th Hoeing cucumbers in the North lots

20th Working on the road. At 11 1/2 A.M. and 5 1/2 PM rain, thunder & lightning,

21st AM: working on the road. PM finished hoeing cycumbers North: visited
2 sisters from Groveland. SpJendid day,

22nd Hoeing beans/ cabbages & rutabagas in the North lot. Filled out the peppers
& tomatoes that had died. Hoeing peppers. Rainy,

23rd SABBATH DAY. Wet morning. Meeting at home. PM: singers went down
to Canaan. Rainy afternoon.


24th Hoeing young cabbages in the hog lot etc. etc,

25th Six gardeners went down to Canaan to help weed out their herb gardens which
were overgrown with weeds on account of having put on green manure m the
spring. One at home hoeing turnips and cucumbers.

26th Finished turnips & cucumbers, hoed & wed peppergrass, veg. oysters, young
parsley and sage. Staked the yellow onions.

27th Staking & sharpening stakes in the North Garden; hoeing onions, beans &
cabbages in the South Garden.

28th Some of the beets having come up poorly, we set out some today; hoeing
cabbages, cucumbers etc. in the N orth Garden, Staking all finished.

29th Cultivated & hoed onions in the North Garden; hoed & thinned lettuce on the
east side, and other etc. Hard rain,

30th SABBATH DAY. Public meeting AM, home meeting PM.

July
1st Hoeing, thinning & wedding lettuce NG; set out some in vacant spaces; set
out some cabbages, etc.

2nd Pitching the compost heap over; tied up all the plants; thinning lettuce etc.
Rain PM

3rd Rainy AM. Pitching out manure from the sheep shed Into the garden; setting
out Little Early York cabbages south of the brick shop.

4th Hoeing cabbages in the hog lot; hoeing and thinning cucumbers north.

5th Finished furthest lotof cucumbers; finished thinning lettuce North Garden;
thinned & hoed little onions 1st Garden

6th Finished the manure in the sheep shed. Hoeing cabbages in the hot lot.
