28th Spiltt.ing wood. Very rainy & windy.
29th Very warm. Finished banking up the Deacon Shop. Drew 2 loads tanbark.
30th Considerable rain last night. Choring round at small jobs. Stillkeeps warm.
December
1st SABBATH DAY. Public & home meetings. Fine day.
2nd Warm. In theshop. Drew some manure on the young sage bed.
3rd Very rainy & windy. In the shop.
4th Thermo at 12 o'c 42 , Beautiful day. Shop work.
5th Rained last night. It has not freezed for several nights. Levi took Frank &
started for Watervliet, Clawson returned from Harvard route being gone just
two weeks. Seeds sold quite as well as usual. He has not been well all time.
Brought back the old seeds. Yesterday H. went to Edward depot & brought
home six cases of seed boxes, eleven deer skins & some maple sugar--all from
the Southern route. E. Richard & Henry E. went to Square Straits inStephen-
town. Rainy.
6th Sorting & tearing open seed bags. Henry took Charley, the single horse, fro
Edward's depot to send to Hudson to Joseph Bennet or M.L. Carther.
7th High wind, few inches snow. Levi returned at five PM. All inshop but John R
& Charles Gr. who are working in broom shop.
8th SABBATH DAY. Meeting at home both AM PM. Cool & cloudy.
9th All are working in seed shop. High wind. The farmers are threshing grain.
10th Finished tearing open seed bags, put up some seeds to send to Watervliefr to
exchange for some Levi got of them. Levi went to Hancock. A Warner from
N.Y. Leeds man got some seeds. H. went to grist mill & post office.
Wm. Offord not well, is writing. Finished tearing open bags. Commenced
filling again.
llth Snowed all forenoon. E. Richard started for Albany. Picking over peas &
putting up seeds.
12th Thanksgiving in this state. We kept it as Sabbath. Meeting at nine m morning,
after dinner, four brethren went to shops. E.R. came from Albany to Canaan
where Br. F. & the E. Sisters met him. Yesterday Dunbar was convicted in
Albany for the murder of the boys.
