16th Arose at four, meeting at five. Sister Patty Ann fainted, or had an appolectic
fitwhile attempting to pick up a piece of carpet. She remained mcensible
all day. xBoxing seeds for Western route, put up 10 boxes more for the North,
17th At three A.M. Sister Patty died without suffering any pain. Lev! & Andrew
dug her grave. George made her coffin. Boxing up some of the Western
Route. Adwaid Chase & John Gr. came from Washington.
18th Mercury 10 above zero. Before breakfast Andrew & Henry C. went to Canaan,
for the Br. & Sisters to come to the funeral, which took place at nine A.M.
The Elders & Eldresses from Second family are here. She manifested herself in
meeting, seemed to be very happy. We started for the grave about ten, got
home half past eleven* Levi directed the procession. Br. Frederic spake of
some of her good traits amoung them were these - meekness, simplicity, love.
Seemed to possess at alltimes the fear of God, was a peacemaker, was very
industrious. Many other ones were spoken of. All felt much love, respect
& blessing for her. Clawson came home from the river about noon.
19th Snowing in morning. Finished Clausons Northern route home load. Continue
boxing up seeds for Syracuse.
20th Repearing boxes & packing them,
21st George W. Henry E. & two Sisters went with a sleigh to Spencers 4 1/2 miles
below Stockbridge, Very good sleighing. Still boxing.
22nd SABBATH DAY. About 30 spectators at public meeting. Commenced snowing
& blowing. Continued very hard. Drifted much.
23rd Still boxing seeds. Itsnows & blows very fast. All within doors, farmers & all.
Great snowstorm.
24th * Mercury 4 below zero. Finished boxing seeds for this year. Clawson loaded
up his today* Farmers breaking roads & drawing wood*
25th Christmas Day. Meeting at 9 1/2 in which nunch love was imparted to Brs.
Ciawson & John Shaw who intend to start tomorrow on the Northern Route.
Union meeting at 1 1/2, supper at 4. Brethren came to the shops. Br. Robert
White is here. Elder R. & Sisters went with Levi to Canaan.
26th Finished cleaning carrot seed & put up eight boxes for J, Mayo m N.Y.
Bought two thermometers from Ceeler of Kendall. Meeting in evening.
Northern Route started.
27th Clear & pleasant. Henry Cantrell started for Washington. The brethren Wm. O
& Edward Liddle leave the seed shop for the sizing shop.
