1st Commenced plowing south of the pair trees. Very pleasent. Finished sawing
wood; sowed the hotbed. Wm. & E. are pasting bags.
2nd Transplanted the vegetable oysters. Rainy ail day. Two brethren came from
Tyringham Albert Battle & Richard Van Duzen.
3rd H went to Canaan Depot with aple trees for Thorben Albany. W is making bags.
8th All the gardeners except Wm adigging dich in old hog lot, preparing it for a
garden, purpose to lay tile,
9th Continue diching. Sold 3 cows, one 35, 32, 25. Took a two year old colt
at $50 towards them.
10th On 7th we sat out the yellow onions, south side pear trees (black) rows.
Working at dich till noon & then prepaired a piece n of N. Garden for onions etc,
11th Sat out white onions & parsnips 9 1/4 rows former 7 latter, n of N Garden, &
raked the onion bed N pear trees.
12th Sowed 29 rows red, 20 yellow & 16 white onions & sat out Black W Radish
s pear trees, above yellow onions & plowed some in North Garden.
13th SABBATH DAY. About 50 spectators, 180 Br. & Sisters. Singing meeting P.M.
Some six Br, & Sis from Canaan. Clear cool wind,
14th 22 Clear, but cold raw wind. We commenced dragging at 10 o'clock & marked
furrows most of the east side of N. Garden & sat 75 bushels of red onions, making
(blank) rows, 9 of us all.
15th A little snowis falling. The gardners went to finish the onions before breakfast,
took tillnine, 36 rows in all. Most of them the length of the garden. We then
spaded the sage bed & drew in the D Seller some parsnips to save till May, to
see if the worms will injure them. Also drew the barrels, baskets from garden.

16th Rained last night E wind. Some of the garners sawing stakes for cabbages,
onions etc. Levi is plowing on Perry place.
17th Some snow in morning0 We are sharpening stakes & repairing fence. The Elders
returned from Hudson near noon. The jury on the Pillow case did not agree.
Clawson started for the river with 65 doz. brooms, Reading meeting eve., F.
