Eldress Harriet came to stay with her. Elder Josiah,
Katie Nelson and Katie Malory came to see her, also
Deborah Knight.
Journal stops on February 4.
"A great many things has happened during the last six
months, the most of which I will endeavor to set down and then
keep the journal regularly. /
5 Mar "I went to stay with Sister Annie as she had become
paralyzed and could not stir hand or foot without help.
I stayed with her 8 weeks. Her doctors were Dr. Velie
of Albany and Dr. Lothridge. Watchers from othier
families were Eldress Lydia, Sisters Mary, Katie Maria
and Sarah Ann Neal .
Girls' school began in May with Sarah Ann Neal as
teacher .
Cornelius Sullivan and John Nolan left.
"The latter part of June my mother and stepfather came
for a visit of about 2 weeks. During this time George
(Dahm ?) papered two wardrobes in middle hall of dwell-
ing house, the little dining room, and grained the dish
cupboard besides helping with building the new barn on
north farm.
Rachel McDonald has had two nieces and a nephew board-
ing at WF for 6 weeks. They went home Aug. 27 just in
time for the great railroad strike.
Charles Rice and Christopher Alexander were received_^^
in the spring and an elderly man named Jerome'^bli July
6. Walter Smith left for his father in Seattle.
Sister^Annie came back into the house August 7.

25 Aug "We.washed and made shirts in the afternoon."
26 Aug Eva^is weaving bonnets.
2 Sept Sister/Annie and 8 of the girls spend the day at the
Rural Cemet^ery. Elder Ozias goes to Troy and gets
82 doz . shirts.
7 Sept (Sun) Elder Giles (Avery) spends the afternoon here
laboring with the young Believers.
We take back Cornelius Sullivan and also a man named
James Monroe,
9 Sept Canned tomatoes and made 84 bottles of catsu^p.
13 Sept I am trying to weave some bonnets.
The rest work on shirts when tomato canning is done.
20 Sept "Slight the chores and drive at shirts."
22 Sept (Mon) "Wash, get done at 7:30 a.m. all but hanflLng uifp.
Mary Ann and I boil up 30 sheets in lye. All the rest
driving at shirts except Eldress Rosetta who has gone
to Albany with Eldress Harriet.
Three brethren and three men have gone to the flats to
harvest Indian corn, had their breakfast at 4:30.
