<b>27  Nov</b>        Thanksgiving.        We   roasted    3  turkeys.       "After    supper,

                           Charles    Rice   and   Frances     Searson    ran   away.     Elder

                           Ozias,    Eldress    Rosetta     and   I  follow    them,   overtake      them
<br>
                           at  Niskayuna     but   could    not   get   the  girl.     We   then   went
<br>
                           to  West   Troy   to   notify    the   officers     to  get   a  warrant
<br>
                           for  his   arrest    but   the   justice    wa$s    not   h ome.     We   got
<br>
                           home   at  2  a.m."                                     .

<b>28   Nov</b>       Ozias   and   Rosetta     went   to  Troy    and  got^l   a warrant     for
<br>
                           Charles'     arrest.      "After    dinner    a  detective     came   and
<br>
                           inquired     about   the   particulars       and  went    on  a  search    for
<br>
                           him.     I went   to   Sarah   Wade's     to  get   a  cloak   that
<br>
                           slipped    out   of  the   carriage     last   night.      I  f^ound    it
<br>
                           more   of  a  walk   than    I  suspected."
<br>
<b>1  Dec</b>         Got  out   another     warrant    against     Charles    Rice    for   some
<br>
                           clothes    he   took   that   belonged     to  James    Monroe    and   John
<br>
                           Dahm.

<b>4  Dec</b>    (Th)  About    noon   a  man   came   with   news    of  where    Charles    and
<br>
                           Frances    were.     Eldress     Rosetta     immediately      set   off   to
<br>
                           notify    the   detective.       After    supper    the   detective     took
<br>
                           six  of   the  men   and   brethren     and   went   after    them   and
<br>
                           brought    Frances     here   and   took   Charles     to  West   Troy.
<br>
                           "We   got  to   bed  about    midnight."

<b>5  Dec</b>         Elder    Ozias,    James   Monroe     and  John    Dahm   go  to  West    Troy

                           to  court.

                           Rosetta,     Sister    Annie,    Annie    Sullivan     and  Frances     go

                           to  court.    Charles     was   sentenced     to  150   days   and   $30
<br>
                           fine   or  180   days   for   stealing     the   clothes    and   will    have
<br>
                           another    trial    after    he  serves    this."

<b>7  Dec</b>         Eldress    Harriet     had   come   last   night.      This   morning     she
<br>
                           called    the   older   part   of   the   sisters    together     and   asked
<br>
                           if  they   were   willing     to  take    Frances    into    the  family
<br>
                           until   further     developments.         We  all   agreed.
<br>
<b>8  Dec</b>         Theodore     Wicks    left   us.
<br>
<b>10   Dec</b>       Shirt   makers     not  working.       Letting    the   pond    fill   up  and
<br>
                           get   frozen    so  as  to   cut   ice.

<b>11   Dec</b>       Go  to  Albany    to   get   Susie's    sister    Lucy    who  is   coming
