15 Dec Washed, then ran wood and ran the sewing machines by
steam power.
Franjrfces Searson's grandfather came and wanted her to
go with him and she did "so that finished up with her."
18 Dec Heavy fall of snow in a.m. so in p.m. the water had
risen on the ice so the men could not harvest it so
sisters used water power for their sewing machines.
19 Dec Mary^Ann is 72 today. "Wish she was much younger."
21 Dec (Sun) Morning to meeting, the shop sisters got into the
sleigh and as it went down the side hill beyond the
shop, it upset and all the sisters fell out. No one
was hurt seriously.
Elder Giles dangerously ill.
23 Dec Girls are making candy and Eva is helping them.
Elder Ozias sat with Elder Giles last night; Eldress
Ann went for Eldress Rosetta as Eldress Harriet is
also sick.
27 Dec Elder Giles died about 2 p.m. and Elder Isaac (Anstatt)
started for Mt. Lebanon.
28 Dec Meeting at home. It snows and blows all day so we do
not leave the house if we can possibly help it. Elder
Ozias went down to CF in afternoon to get ministry's
clothes to wash.
3L9 Dec Do not wash. Elder Isaac got back, tells them that 12
are coming from LebH'anon so they get ready to receive
the Lebanon NF elders who arrive about 4 p.m.
30 Dec Elder Giles" funeral at 9 a.m. but had to wait a little
while for people to arrive from Hancock and Old
Enfi^eld. They went back home in afternoon.
