30 May Memor/Lal Day. Q&f Eldreys Rosetta, Maggie", Susie,
Ella, Lucy, May cind Emma went to cemetery.
(Each day there is a daily routine of "chores" or
washing etc. and then "work at shirts.")
11 July Eldress Rosetta, Eva and Lucy to the Meeting House to
make cushions for the seats.
14 July Some attend Susan^Love's funeral at NF. f*yr
30 July Go to Albany to get the Ministry carpets that had been
taken there for cleaning. Beans are being picked "by
hired help."
15 Sept Canning tomatoes and pears, drying corn in kiln, 15
sisters working on shirts. IG/goes to Albany about 3
times a week either with eggs and butter or with other
sisters who were having teeth pulled.
30 Sept Jennet^Angus died "after a long life of faithful use-
fulness" as nurse at CF. tu. 9*f
25 Oct Genevra DeGraw moved to Lebanon.
12 Nov "The work of the week has been cleaning, putting up
stoves and pipes and everying in general - washing,
ironing, shirt making, going to market. IG went
twice, Wed. & Fri., with canned stuff, very few eggs
(the hens have not got to laying after moulting), some
butter (but the cows have not come in so that is
scarce), some poultry, to sell. Bought some turkeys
for Thanksgiving and cranberries."
29 Nov Thanksgiving. We have meeting at home, a very good
one. Turkeys for dinner. IGVput new dishes in dining
room, new oil cloths on tables and table mats for hot
thing Sy. "
2 Dec Jacob /Bauer taken sicfc "seems to have a stroke of the
palzy limb."
17 Dec IG to Troy with Sarah Neal to see about some children.
19 Dec IG to Albany with Sarah Neal to meet Emma Jane.
20 Dec Make candy for Christmas.
21 Dec Chores getting done, Christmas presents getting made.
25 Dec "Christmas has come and all are rejoicing over the good
things that are provided for each and all, great and
small. Our dinner was oysters, cranberries, celery,
cabbage slaw, turkey; our supper fruit cake. Enter-
tainment at the CF, all the family's young people went,
16 from here at 6, back home after 8.
