so we labored to do the extra duty."
19 Nov Eva and IG go to WF "to take lessons in music." Two
girls come from NF to learn to crochet hoods.
23 Nov The old company dining room is now a bathroom ''and water
closet.
11 Dec IG^moves her work from the chicken house into the shop
for the winter.
17 Dec Eldress Rosetta and Sister Anna to Albany to get things
for Christmas.
18 Dec Eva making some preparations for Christmas.
19 Dec Candy made for Christmas. "Learning and singing pieces
to rehearse on Christmas evening."
21 Dec "Christmas trees and evergreens going up, mottoes
getting printed ready for hanging, all wide awake."
23 Dec (Mon) IG had Frank go to Albany with Christmas orders.
24 Dec Preparing for Christmas. Christmas tree getting fixed.
25 Dec Go to CF to meeting in a.m. Have oysters for dinner
with cranberry sauce. Did not have tea. Entertainment
began about 6 p.m.; about 8 a lunch for about 70 bre-
thren and sisters with the children. All went off with
success. Got to bed about 10. All seemed satisfied.
Cake, 3 kinds crackers, cheese, chocolate, coffee.
31 Dec OB^started out, said he is going to spend New Year's in
Cambridge. Home on Jan. 4.
Elder Josiah had dinner with us.

1 Jan Have ducks for dinner with snowflake potatoes, celery,
cranberries. Elder Alexander had dinner with us. In
evening went to NF for meeting.
23 Jan OB^ to Albany to see about Henry's will.
5 Mar Elders Joseph and Isaac^home from Florida, Alvira home
from Philadelphia.
15 Mar The WF/have an alligator from Florida, a live one, a
stuffed one and an egg.
20 Mar OB got 30 doz. shirts in Troy.
25 Mar MA in the shop in a.m. After dinner;'was thrown down
when the steps to the coal bin gave way1.'
27 Mar OB took shirts to Troy but got none.
7 Apr Ten cases of measles at NF.
8 Apr OB goes to Albany with Adam, the herdsman, to get a
casket and permit to bury his dead baby.
26 Apr "John Dahm here, brought a wife to see the children."
10 May John^Dahm here with his wife the second time.
13 May Sister Anna tacking up fly papers.
