4 May Marie Driscoll, the nurse. Dr. Stillman and Dr. Lothridge inspect house
from top to bottom to make sure it is sanitary.
Gut Hugo's house at WF in half and are going to move \o SF for hi
to live in. Expect it will take about 15 days to move.
5 May Hugo and family will live in Sister's Shop, occupying rooms on lower floor
and cooking and eating in ironing room.
7 May Mary Dahm went to Al^iy to see Dr. Lempe and George Duncan to see Dr.
Fri. Munson about his eye. Mary returned alone, "George to wander about over
by the power house to do as he pleased. "Goodby to the $10 bill Eldress
Annie gave him to pay the doctor with."
George returned late Saturday night, went to his room and to bed.
11 May Nurse leaves A.G. who is now getting about the house.
13 May Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Wooster and Mrs. Easton came by car to see "if they
could get a place up at the WF for some young people to camp out a while
this summer - they to furnish everything except the house." Maggie went
up with them and they were well pleased.
14 May Brother Hamilton brought us some radishes from the NF. Moved Hugo's
house 240 feet today.
17 May Hamilton brought them lettuce.
18 May "Dr. W. E. Lothridge is the best old doctor that ever lived."

Mrs. Wooster and Mr. & Mrs. Miller drove out again to look over the situ-
ation about young people camping at WF this summer. "This is a summer's
outing given poor but worthy young working women by the wealthy and in-
fluential women of Albany (Mother s Club of Albany). They intend to have
a dance at Loudonville sometime in the near future to raise money enough
to help bear expenses."
20 May Barn raising at CF. Freida and Grace went up to help in the dining rooms,
Grace at the Office and Freida at the Dwelling House. They fed 23 men for
dinner at Office and 49 at Dwelling. Elder Josiah treated the men to cigars,
3 & 4 each. SF provided asparagus and butter. In afternoon, all of SF
except Deborah and Anna G. went to watch. Charles Deiner was boss of car-
pentry work, and Ed Ireland and his son John, the cement and foundation
work. Everything went very smoothly.
In moving Hugo's house, have to wait for power company to cut wires.
26 May Albert Stroebel, Hugo's brother, arrives to work as a hired hand.
27 May Eldress Anna ordered a "Blue Flame Wickless Oil Stove" to use during
the summer.
Hamilton brought a "nice lot of spinach."
29 May Silo being built at SF, will cost about $400.
Bathroom is to be repaired.
Hugo's house has now come down the lane and is ready to be moved to its
final resting place "near the fountain."
3 June Oil stove arrived, cost $12.
11 June End of school, Miss Leary teacher. Had program in meeting room with reci-
tations and music, then went out on lawn for ice cream and cake. Children
each received a small basket of nuts, candy and fruit. All passed their
examinations except one of neighbor boys, George Willey.
14 June Digging cellar for Hugo!s house - hard digging.
17 June Eldress Annie and Elder Josiah to Schenectady for a law suit brought by
May Winegarten (a girl raised at the WF) for services rendered Eldress
Rachel McDonald in her last days. May had been married (Miller) and was
living in Schenectady when Eldress Rach^el sent for her to come and care
for her.
20 June Mrs. Munson gave girls a croquet set.
23 June Eldress Annie and Mary go to Albany to get four girls she is going to take
to live at SF - Cross sisters, Viola 10, Catherine 9, Gertrude 7 and
Lillian 5 - from Arlington, Vt. Father dead, mother living.
