childhood home, she thought she would like to see itagain after all these years.

21 Aug. "Husking ground cherries or cape gooseberries."

25 Aug. Eld. Anna came home unexpectedly by herself "on the cars" as she feltshe was needed
at home. Saw her old home she left over 50 years ago and her portion of the estate
which had been set aside according to law, also a niece, her brother's child.

17 Sept. "Eldress Anna gets word Mattie Forbes from Los Angeles will be in Albany Wednesday
p.m . She expects to come Into our family with the intention of making this her home .
Claims 58 years. "

19 Sept. Mattie Forbes arrives about 5 p.m, Hugo and Eld. Anna meet her at Albany station.

14 Oct. George Duncan got into the hard cider at Office in the cellar the past week and has
Sun. been acting worse than a monkey with the measles. Everybody is worn out with him.
Instead of helping, he is an added burden.

25 Oct. (The Enfield furniture had arrived and distributed around, everyone getting a new bed,
and Freida and Mary getting new dressers.) "Grade's bed has been moved out of the
front room over to the Sisters'Shop until next spring so as tolet Freida have room for
the Enfield dresser. Grace to sleep in Deborah's room while Deborah lives."

26 Oct. "... general bed moving day. Enfield bedsteads and mattresses brought Into allthe

28 Oct. Meeting. All got but Ella, Joanna and Deborah. Firsttime to ride in truck with new
Sun. side seats. Good meeting, all spoke or sung a song, "Eld. Caroline & Lucy do not come
over to breakfasts, neither do they go to meetings." First time Mattie and Harry go to
meeting in thisSociety.

5 Nov. Harry (Richmond, Eld. Caroline's uncle) real sick with grippe. This is his 80thbirthday.
