19 May Hugo took in truck to Albany: Maggie, Eld. Caroline, Lucy, Mary, George, Grace,
Sun. Freida and Anna to hear chorus of 200 at Harmanus Bleeker Hall, orchestra of 41--21
of which were violins. Great program, from 4-6 p.m. "Had drinks at drugstore, cream
and candy, Eld. Caroline bought for us. "

23 May Have rented West Family for 5 months at $25 per month for agriculturalpurposes. Lot
of college girls coming. Eld.Anna and Lucy got to see about. One of our renters w i l l
have to move to a smaller building to make room for girls.

24 May Mary/ Lucy and girls go to West Farm all day, cleaning and straightening up.

27 May Eld. Anna ordered their winter supply of coal -- 45 tons.

11 June The farmerettes get $15 a month and board. "They prove to be very good workers."

14 June Hugo took Eld. Caroline, Lucy, Ella/ Maggie and Anna into Albany tosee parade.
20,000 in parade, 50,000 watching. Sec. of Navy Josephus Daniels there. 3-5 p.m.

27 June Eld. Anna to Rochester to visither niece.

29 June fcflugo, wife, Victoria and Maggie leave to go by car to Rochester, spend Sunday at
Sat. Niagara Falls,back to Rochester and come home Tuesday, bringing Eld. Anna .

5 July Mary Dahm,Julia, Victoria, Lucy/ Pauline, Susan and Marion go to Kingston Point on
^>-- boat for day and take their lunch. Grace was planning to go but was sick.
15 July Mary into Albany "to get her truss fixed. "
19 July We strung 4 barrels ofbeans at home. This is our first
day this year in beans for canning.
Four Farmerettes from Land Army at West Family helped pick, plus Eld. Anna, Mary
and Grace.

23 July May Slater,friend of Eld. Caroline & Lucy, came for visit and was met at Albany boat
landing. After supper, Hugo took in truck, Eld. Caroline, Lucy, May, Freida, Maggie,
Ella, Grace & Anna to Albany to "War Chest Minstrel Show." Put on by Elks, Shriners,
K of C and Adelphia. "Nearly laughted ourselves to death . "

24 July Hugo took Eld . Josiah & Ella Winship from North F ., Eld . Anna, Mary Helen, Paul ine,
Susan/ Eleanor and Marion in tosee minstrel show.

26 July Our folks and farmerettes picked large field ofbeans last evening. Everybody busy
these days.

27 July Extremely hot. Folks to Church Family to pick and string beans. I stayed home to do baking
