property as Emma expects to sellitand is going to N.Y. on business."
4 Jan Had Xmas entertainment over again at 2 p.m. - Sadie Neal, Corrinna Bishop & their
Sun. chauffeurs from Mt. Lebanon, Alex Pettiff, 8 others & Catherine & Anna, "two Bulgarian
sisters," from Hancock. All stayed to supper. Sadie Neal took Mary & Grace Dahm
home for week's visit to Mt. Lebanon & Hancock.
5 Jan 1 made 5 toaves of fruit cake - 6 cups sugar, 4 cups butter, 2 cups buttermilk, 1 cup molasses,
12 eggs, 3* currants, 1^ citron, W raisins, 1 glass wine, 1 cut nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg,
mace, cloves, 2 tsps soda(Note - she doesn't include flour) Hugo & Eld Anna went to
Troy in p.m. to meet a man from Arlington Vt. with Victoria Cross, 7 yrs old, who is coming

10 Jan Maggie sick, meals carried. Eld Anna prepares them, Eleanor does Maggie's chores and
waits on her.
18 Jan Lucy, Hamilton, Freida & Ella Winship all sick, not to meals.
19 Jan Mary killed & cooked a chicken for Maggie who does not eat pork. Eld Anna buys her
lamb chops occasionally.
24 Jan Eld Anna, Mary, Grace & girls embroidering and crocheting silk borders to 250 towels and
washcloths with silk roses on them - $3, $2.50 & $1 .50. Maggie stillpoorly, goes to
Dr. SHIIman in Albany.
1 Feb Maggie very ^ad off, sent for Dr. Lothridge as Maggie says Dr. Stillman's medicine not
Sun doing her any good.
2 Feb Dr. L says Maggie "is .in quite
a bad state, heart action weak. "
3 Feb Telephoned to Albany to get R.N. for Maggie. Arrived 2:15 p.m 0 - Rosemond Wood.
5 Feb Catherine Cross, aged 13, crocheted 53 silk roses for towels today.
6 Feb Bl izzard, 28 inches on Ivel . No school . Catherine made 68 roses.
9 Feb Eld Anna bought $97 of suppi ies at Oppenheims & McEwans - dried beef, salmon, macaroni,
noodles, sardines, rice, cocoa, dried smoked herring, sugar, coffee, tea & raisins.
10 Feb Maggie able to be up, nurse leaves. Her bill$20. Eleanor gets Maggie's meals & sleeps
in room with her.
11 Feb Mary & Hugo to Price's i'n Albany to look at a brooder which Mary expects to buy, guar-
anteed for 20 years. Mary aksoseht on order to^V^^aF^ly; Br 100 chicks at 17 l/2e each.
