18 Feb Byron killed & dressed 3 rabbits. We had them stewed for dinner with corn croquettes,
parsnips, mashed potatoes & 9 custard pies.

1 Mar I have taken a general survey of chicken house. Turkeys look fine but 1 guess all 3 are
males. Rhode Island Reds (pure breed) are handsome, in A No. 1 condition, likewise the
White Leghorns. The chicken house is as sweet & clean as a parlor. Mary Dahm is the
boss poultry woman and does accomplish wonders along that line."

2 Mar Julia Stroebel & Susan Brooks silk lined 36 fancy work boxes for the store, I have been
in the bakeroom a year today.

3 Mar A Mrs. Holden, an antique dealer here from Gloversville, to see North folks. Walked from
tolley line on snow shoes.

11 Mar Marie overslept this morning so I rang the rising belland went upstairs to awaken her. I
rise at3:40 every other morning.

14 Mar Chimney got on fire at Eld Caroline & Lucy's,Gave them quite a scare. No one over to
Sun, dinner but Lucy.

17 Mar 100 little chicks & 15 ducklings arrived from Nunda.

18 Mar Henry Schenk moved into house on lane. Has 4 children - 3 boys and a 17 mon. girl.

23 Mar Mr. Schenk's son, Henry, started school. He is 7, others too young yet.

24 Mar Eld Anna, Eld Josiah & Freida go to Schdy to see lawyer Van Voast about income tax.
Hugo brought truck home from Albany where it was stored all winter with touring car.

25 Mar Eld Anna bought 100* of yarn from Hiser & Muhlfelder for fancy work.

26 Mar Eld Anna, Eld Caroline & Eld Josiah to Albany on business.

2 Apr "Men cut down old apple tree pnJihe fountain.."

3 Apr I made 14 loaves bread, 8 deep custard pies & 7 sponge cakes - used 44 eggs.
Sat Hugo brot home box of oranges & bunch of bananas for tomorrow. Eld Anna got 200
workboxes for the store which Geo. will have feo fix& polish and then they w i l l
be lined
with silk.

4 Apr Meeting at home. All there except Joanna & the North aged sisters. Eld Josiah from ChF
Easter for dinner and all p.m. Used 126 eggs - egg & raspberry sauce for breakfast; dinner -
lettuce, chicken, hard eggs, lima beans, creamed potatoes, oranges & bananas, corn
relish. Supper - sponge cake, peach sauce & poached eggs.

7 Apr Eld Anna & Eld Josiah to Albany to meet Emma J/ Neal at Stanwix Hail in regard to
Florida property which they as trustees expect to take out of Lawyer Van Voast's hands.
"Van Voast has the deeds and has acted as trustee for thisproperty, but has never given
an account of himself to Shaker trustees once. He is highly incensed at being notified as
to what Emma Neal Kxpects to do (&pur trustees are united with her) and V.V. threatens
a law suit. As Isaac Anstaat placed all legal documents in V . V . ' s hands,
it looks like
some trouble ahead."
