26 Dec Dr. IQthridge to see Eld Anna who is sick with aaold,
28 Dec Eld Anna down to dinner, did not eat much. 'Igues it is not only a cold but general
fatigue of both mind and body. "

in her room. Has stiffback. Maggie gets her meals and waits on her.

31 Dec Eld Anna is about well again. Maggie has taken 3 electric treatments a week at $2 each
since July 25th - $150. "She seems better now than for a long, long time. She has
never had much health to boast of, naturally delicate." Maggie received from a friend
a handsome quilted Alice-blue satin house jacket from Lord & Taylor's. "Must have cost
at least $25.

3 Jan School o^pened with Ella Winship as teacher. Miss Burke had filled in 1st semester.
1 Jan Byron went to Albany for new clothes. Walking back thru the woods, the flapping of his
overcoat frightened the horses of the wood wagon & they ran away, smashing the wagon
to kindling. Luckily Henry Schenk was not in it.
15 Jan Eld Caroline & Lucy to Albany toget new winter coat forLucy as hers was "old and all
out of style." During 1920 Mary Dahm collected 896 doz + 9 eggs.
22 Jan Ella Winship very sick with influenza. No school.
25 Jan Isabelle White also sick in bed. "We hear they had fried beans & onions for supper at
SistersShop so the sick will surely recover. "
26 Jan Byron doing the cooking for theNorth folks. Jennie also sick in bed.
28 Jan "Lavinia Dutcher eats raw onions every night for supper and beans when she can get them.
This accounts for her cheerful, happy disposition and longevity as she is now 90 years and
stillon deck, able to clean her room and bathe herself and make her bed. "
7 Feb Ella Winship finallybetter and school reopened. Eld Anna is not feeling at allwell and
has not been since Xmas.
17 Feb About 10 a.m. we got the scare of our lives, one not to be forgotten soon. Eld Anna
had a stroke over at the sewing shop. Her tongue, face, eye, hands and side were all
twisted way around and perfectly dead and numb. They phoned immediately for Dr.
Lothridge, got her to her own room and the blood started to circulate and she come to,
and little by little she cameround right again. She felt as ifshe were going right out,
but had her senses fully, knew everything and heard everything. Catherine had noticed
