5 July Finish up currant jelly - 64 glasses & 15 qts. of sauce & 15 quarts of cherry sauce today,

12 July ^(arol ine) puts up 45 qts. of beets.

13 July Caroline canned over 80 qts. of cherries.

18 July "Blatchford tells us that a man is prepared to buy the Chh property."

22 July ' Caroline puts down 125 pickles in brine.

25 July Caroline, Mary & Lucy put up crate of blackberries & 36 qts. of beets.

26 July Mary, Lucy, Grace, Pauline, Marion & Byron with the Strobels to the Heldebergs
to pick blueberries. Home 7:30, bring all told 65 qts.

27 July Put up blueberries, get 36 qts. of sauce.

10 Aug. Schenks little boygets eye hurt, his brother throws stone, breaks glasses.

15 Aug. Men pick 1000 ears of corn, all hands husk & can, 18 jars the old way, 57 with
salt & sugar.

22 Aug. All hands to the pears & plums. Put up 90 qts., cook 19 jars in kettle, cold pack rest.

23 Aug. Girls pick 3 bu. elderberries.
Hugo has been going to market in evening with their corn and tomatoes.

31 Aug. "Can tomatoes at the Chh for the Chh. Fred Tribley rolls the cans. "

6 Sept. "All hands to the Chh to can tomatoes. Finish at noon. Caroline cans 25 qts. of
peaches in p.m . "

12 Sept. Carol ine & Mary make pickles and crab (apple) jelly.

13 Sept. " put up pickles, Mary & Lucy pick grapes.

14 Sept. " put up grape jelly.


15 Sept. " in canning room all day.

23 Sept. All hands work on 60 towel order for Mrs. Frank. Lucy makes 55 roses.

19 Oct. ^ary again to hospital. On Oct. 21 Mary goes to her cousins (to recuperate).

23 Oct. We order a pipeless heater, pay $5.00 down, w i l l bring itin a month, "so salesman
