30 Aug. Dr. Boon, Mr. Lorenzo and Arthur Ziness here a.m. to get my permission to give
Luckie Boy away to a N.Y. man. All say it would be a crime to kill the dog, he
is such a beauty. Mail pedigree papers and license tag.

In 1922 she told of caring for her dog/ Brownie - medicine, v e t /special meat, etc.
and itfinally died. She wrote to ads for dogs for sale/ finally got a new puppy.
Daily entries thentold of taking dog for "romp," having those going into Albany get
liver for it/sending for biscuits/giving it worm medicine/ etc. It was a major
part of her I ife/
so this was a devastating blow to her.

30 Sept. El. Anna/ Caroline, Jennie & Lucy go to Green Island and visit thenew automobile
plant owned by Ford/ recently completed. It is a wonderful sight of engineering
skill. Church radio services.

5 Oct. "The Great Clambake is progressing nicely. Sweet and Irish tubers, clams/ corn/
Friday chicken, cabbage salad, apple pie etc. /which c a l l s for flexible rotundity
in the
eaters. " Carol ine toChh for shelves/ Ministry sisters for"things. "
t/Large load of goods comes here from the Chh Ministry.

6 Oct. ^Prepare for Barbara & Abbie (of Chh), some repairs to make at the house. Byron
brings over Barbara's young chickens.

Sunday ^Hugo goes for Barbara & Abbie to have them look over their future home, eat dinner
7 Oct. with us. We a l lattend radio services morning and evening. Very good.

8 Oct. ^More things are moved from Ministry house at Chh and load comes from Barbara's
house. Lucy goljes over to help. El .Sarah gives me a rocker and a I ittle pasteboard
drawers.

12 Oct. '/Move two truckloads from Chh. Carpenter work goes on at "the other house", plas-
tering/ papering/ etc. (getting it ready for Chh sisters)

15 Oct. ^El . Anna & Lucy to the Chh, bring over a truckload of goods for Adelaide.

19 Oct. /Abbie here all day, helps to arrange furniture atshop (tor sale).

20 Oct. Furniture sales proceed.

23 Oct. El. Anna to Albany with Martha for shoes & Jennie to the dentist.

24 Oct. * Carol ine to Albany in car p.m. / gets oilcloth for Adelaide's room. Work all day at
the cleaning. Some rooms regulated for Church sisters/ some stoves set up.

26 Oct. Go to Chh a . m . /bring home 2 more truckloads from Barbara's house.

27 Oct. El. Anna & Byron to Mt. Lebanon with El. Ella's goods/ organ and all.

31 Oct. vHugo brings over 2 truckloads of Chh furniture for Barbara & Abbie. Adelaide,
Barbara & Abbie come over to Halloween party, take supper & go home 9:30.
