31 March K E1. Walter goes to Chh a .m. and sells farm tools and horses For $800 to Peets &
Constantine and returns home.
9 April Abbie & Lucy go to the Chh/ get warp from loom, cut and waste itshamefully.
Men go to Chh for 135 bushels of oats.
10 April ^Peets & Constantine have an auction at Chh. Ireland & Son auctioneers. Lucy &
all the girls go over aftertea. Eight wagons etc. remain/ nothing more in sight.
12 April A lady comes to apply fora position as school teacher. Wants two rooms and to do
light housekeeping. The matter remains unsettled.
14 April Anna Goepper & Grace go to Albany for day. See "Hunchback of Notre Dame"
at the Strand .
15 April Hamilton ploughing; Byron "at the bonfire business. We are almost smothered."
16 April Three men bring new tractor/ disc harrow and ploughs.
18 April Buying & sell ing fairly brishf' in
junk & chocolate.
Apri I19 i/Hugo & Byron take 1 00 bu .oats to Leb . N . F . , rose bush
& 3 cakes of honey to

27 April Walk to the graveyard with Abbie and find the gate locked. Ella Myers goeisinto
the kitchen/ El. Anna into dining room with Marguerite.
28 April Byron sets the whole place circling the pond on fire. Folks fight itand watch it
until 9:30 p.m . What shall we do with the fire fiends who for six weeks' every spring
startfires near the houses.
29 April Hugo plows with tractor/ Schenk with a team.
1 May At 1 :30 a great surprise
came to our house in the way of a long wished for radio set.
The man installed itand was gone at 4 p.m. at which time we heard from NYC
and Pittsburgh .
7 May Lucy and M. to Rensselaer to gfetsmall Boston terrier.
Bring her home in a box and name her Pol4-y Time.
8 May Little dog does not seem well / give pills for distemper.
9 May Send to Hugo for piece of meat for dog.
