<b>7 Aug</b>       "From all we  learn, Maggie   Caldwell  is determined to make trouble.   We had another

                        be put out."  Warned if  she should appear to  give the big bell a tap so everybody could

<b>9  Aug</b>      About  7 p.rru Anna  Goepper   looked out of window, saw man jump out" of   a car,  take out

                        2 suitcases, Maggie   get out and head for front door of building with her room key   in her
<br>
                        hand, man get   in car and drive away Q  Anna  tapped the bel! and family came running.
<br>
                        Eld. Anna (& others) was outside;   she said "Nay, Maggie, you can't     go in."  Maggie
<br>
                        pretended to feel  badly, got down on knees and begged to be let    inr quoted scripture etc.
<br>
                        She had demanded of    Elder Walter $200/month from time    she was 9 years old (isnow 53)
<br>
                        and  "has never been able to do a hard day's work. "   Ministry asked  Hugo & Jul ia Stroebel
<br>
                        to take her in for night, which they did 0  "She finally told Eld. Sarah she would accept
<br>
                        offer of a home at Mt.  Lebanon NF and give    up her keys 0  Eld. Sarah asked if she had
<br>
                        given  up her lawyer too  and she said she had.  Her lawyer  had told her the covenant she
<br>
                        signed could not be broken and she had better accept the    home offered, she could   not
<br>
                        demand money 0 "

<b>10  Aug</b>     Eld. Anna and Eld 0  Sarah packed Maggie's things 0

<b>11  Aug</b>     Maggie   finally taken to Mt. Lebanon.'

            'Aug  12    Hugo took Maggie's things   in truck to Mt.  Lebanon -  2 largejfoid chests,1 large new
<br>
                        trunk bought for her,  packing  box fulland small workstand.   She had 12 Shaker bonnets,
<br>
                        25 dresses, 24 pairs new hose,   10 pair good shoes, 50 new kerchiefs, 5 pairs  new underwear.
<br>
                        Eld. Anna had been giving her $40-45 a month for     over a year for doctor's treatments.
<br>

<b>17  Aug</b>     All of us to ChF to peel tomatoes  - 137 large baskets.
<br>

<b>30  Aug</b>     Miss  Kelly, the Red Cross  nurse, took Martha Milander   to hospital in Albany to have

                        tonsils and adenoids out.
<br>

<b>31  Aug</b>     Martha brought   home.
<br>
                        Eld. Caroline doing up sauce,    jellies, pickles and rel ishes for winter -
<br>
                                                                                                  plums,  peaches,
<br>
                        sweet  pear pickles, grape  jelly, pepper relish, etc.
<br>

<b>3 Sept</b>      Hugo took girls to Midway   Park 0 Martha was sliding down a board shoot and    her drawers
<br>
                        came unfastened and poor little thing  took all the skin off her rump0  It was not so funny
<br>
                        for her.  She had quite a patch of skin-rubbed   off."
<br>

<b>23 Sep</b>     "Catholic  sisters here on their yearlyround for a donation,.  Eld. Anna  gave them canned
<br>
                        goods and Hamilton   garden truck."
<br>

<b>24 Sep</b>     Eld. Caroline to N.J. to visit sister, brother,  etc.

<b>13  Oct</b>    "Elder Josiah,  2 lawyers and their lady stenographers here to  dinner.  Held a  consultation

                        in the frontroom about  the Florida property with  Elder Josiah and EId 0Anna."
<br>

<b>24  Oct.</b>        Eldo -Bsiah had a bad spell in the nightc  Dr.  Lothridge came and he is better, we   hear.
