officer at Watervliet Arsenal, and his mother.
9 Jan Barbara Hooper, 74 years old 7walked over from ChF to bring Anna Goepper a roast
chicken and a lot of raisins(heavy basket).
28 Jan. Grace Dahm finished weaving Major Westervelt's stair carpet Q He ordered 13 yards,
1 yard wide,, Got $20 for it.
29 Jan Eld. Anna sent for EssieRelyea to take care of Ella Winship & Jennie Wells, both sick in bed
2 Feb Barbara Hooper fell on ice, cut artery in head and almost bled to death before Dr. Lothridge
got there.
5 Feb Anna Goepper spent day at ChF with Barbara who is very weak but gaining. They are all
good to her, especially Abbie.
7 Feb Jennie stillsickin bed; Ella taught school today 0
12 Feb "Poor old Harry Richmond has had two awful falls on the ice latelyand hur^f his side real
bad and his head too. He is 80 years old but works like he thought he was 30. "
16 Feb Essie Relyea went home.
4 Apr Baumes sent for and paid his $3300; Fred Willey was paid $300 he demanded for use of
his auto by ChF. So Union, Ky. breaking up so Elder Walter busy there also.
19 May Jennie Wells blackened 11 stoves this spring: 1) weave shop; 2) Hamilton DeGraw's;
3) Ella Winship's shop; 4) guest room; 5) hall heater; 6) sittingroom; 7) kitchen;
8) Lavina's room; 9) Jennie's room; 10) Byron's room; 11) school room.
24 May Anna Goepper makes 1560 loaves of bread a year (or 30 loaves a week), each 2 1/2 Ibs.
Buy 14 barrels offlour a year at $11 per bbl or $154 total. If we bought bread at 12< a
loaf for 9 loaves (1 Ib. size) a day (skimpy), would cost over $393. From this flour she
also makes pie, cake and biscuits -20-25 pies a week in summer, 35 per week in winter,
2 meals of cake a week, and plenty of muffins and biscuits.
No one baking bread at ChF any more - all bought.

22 June Ella Winship has been chosen by a majority to be second ministry with Eld. Sarah Berger
since Eld. Catherine Allen's death (on June 5).
8 July "Eld. Anna busy on store work all the time. She knits such lovely sweaters, a beautiful

11 July Mrs. Helen Morse, aged 81, came to visit her sisterLavinia Dutcher, aged 92.
