resting indeed. About getting up another missionary
excursion to Boston."
13 Jan A veto on the missionary excursion at present.
14 Jan Thomas Remington to the world.
20 Jan Have a contract to furnish a man with 2000 fence posts
9 ft. long at $33/100.
29 Jan Magdalena Hollenbeck here to see her son Frank Mesick.
31 Jan "A young Swede here from Schenectady, says he is sick
of the world and wants to know what good there is in
Shakerism."
1 Feb The Swede returned to Schenectady to settle his
business.
12 Feb Jeremiah and Alexander go on a peddling trip to Troy
with applesauce, canned corn & tomatoes, apples, etc
23 Feb Fanny Connors to the world.
19 May Nicholas Briggf Asenath Stickney and Angeline have
come from Canterbury "to learn us a better manner of
singing. Hold singing meeting every night this week
except Saturday."
24 May The long deferred missionary trip came up this week -
Augustus^Blase, Eldress Paulina, Bro. Albert^Lomas,
and Sister Harriet Bullard went on May 26, back on 31.
7 June Visitors from Hancock.
12 June Alfred Ministry, including Elder Otis Sawyer.
15 June Ministry from Pleasant Hill, including Elder Harvey
Eads.
22 June Canterbury Ministry.
17 July "Mariahvl'readway from deraangement drowns herself."
22 Aug (Sab) Society singing meeting in afternoon. "Manifesta-
tion of Mother through Ann Buckingham."
28 Oct Harvey DeBoise came here to live.
10 Dec Isaac Anstatt sick in infirmary. Harvey DeBoise in
charge of boys until he is better.
25 Dec Delegation left at 5 a.m. to attend missionary lectures
(Sat.) Elders Frederick Evans, WilliamLeonard, John Vance and
Albert Lomas of Watervliet. Group was Jeremiah (the author), AlviravConklin, Harriet Bullard and
Rosettav^Hendrickson. Arrived at Harvard Society at 7
p.m. , Watervliet people stayed at SF.
26 (Sun) Had meeting at Meeting House, a good dinner, then
visited "the ancients and worthies" of the CF.
27 (Mon) Went to Boston, arriving about 5 p.m. at the Marlboro
House, had dinner and prepared for meeting at 7:30 pm
at the Music Hall. "We all placed ourselves on the
platform and were regaled by several overtures from
the most powerful organ in the city. Then Elder John
Vance spoke on duality of God.
