I July Adam Moore and Gottlieb were sent off and Daniel Perry

3 July Alexander Youngs, when coming from Troy, had his horse
sun struck and die. /

4 Get Bro.Jesse^Wells, 94 years old, has attended almost every
public meeting this season and marched.
6 Oct Last public meeting this season. Bro.VAlbert has
preached all but two Sabbaths.
12 Oct A great many folks came here to have cider made. I lay

28 Oct "The awfullest calamity that ever fell upon this family
occurred. At 9:45 this evening our bifr barn, built
1841 and 1853, 50' x 122', also the sheep barn, bull
shed and waggon house, burned to the ground with their
contents - 4 wagons, 6 sleighs, 1 horsepower thrasher,
100 tons hay, 80 tons straw both thrashed and un-
thrashed, 400 bu. rye unthrashed, 800 bu. oats, between
$50-100 seed sweet corn, and many other things. The
fire must have b^een set."

barn in flames.

mill.

cerning insuring our buildings, night watching, and
detecting incendiaries.
