7 Sept Rebecca Jackson, Harriet, etc. went home to Phnila.
Sent off Carrie Williams, a candidate. Here 6 days
with 3 noisy children.
8 Sept Five of us attended SF funeral of Andrew^Wood, an
Englishman, there 2 years. (70 years old)
10 Sept Richard Webb set out. 16 years old but very short.
19 Sept The writer had to go to Albany three days as a wit-
ness for Oliver against Freligh about a land line.
The case $75.
23 Sept "Calvin Reynolds is here and was here a week. Would
like to be here always but we dare not risk it."
6 Oct "Lydia who had one maiden and 3 surnames, one of which
^as Shepherd, returned from NY where she went for pro-
perty, she says. 60 years old when taken in this

10 Oct Ten sisters to Albany with Peter Smith. He came home
drunk without them.
20 Oct Peter Smith has not done anything since his drunk.
21 Oct Eleanor Vedder, nearly 95, is failing.
26 Oct Alvira Conklin returned from Phila. Brought Harriet
Jones, a colored sister, to stay here.
30 Octd Eleanor Vedder's funeral.
"William Joson insulted Henry George so that Henry went
at him and pounded him and William did what he could.
Henry is CF trustee and William, a tailor, both
English. "It is sad that such unsanctified persons
have to be put and kept in office but thehumber of good
burden bearers has become very small."
1 Dec John Decker brought back from Albany Sarah Drumm and
daughters who left us last spring.
3 Dec Sarah went to Knowersville andft left Cornelia. Expects
to come back.
6 Dec Hester Crandall etc. went to old Methodist graveyard to
see her mother"s gra^ve.
14 Dec I went to Albany and got an organ for the sisters.
16 Dec "Elizabeth Swan, her mother and her new husband, in
meeting. Ahl"
19 Dec Herman and I went to Knowersville after Sarah Drumm.
"George Koch takes care of cows andjall the stock;
writer, H. Ebisch and boy, R. Webb, work on farm;
Hannes and Richard size broom corn; Peter saws brooms;
Chas. Pretsch sorts; A. Milne tends the hens; Herman
Muller gets in wood; John Decker and Isaac.go to mar-
ket. Both the brethren we had in our shoe shop last
year - Aaron and Herman Klages, are dead, so shop
unoccupied. Coon Diener, Coony Flicker, John Borer,
