John Scarff for $900.
7 Jan Sold 7 more cows for $208.
14 Jan Sold 6 more cows from Rosendale for $135.
3-Feb Sold river farm to CF (C.Miller) for $4200.
4 Feb Sold oxen for $180. Had a horse die.
Mar Had their best horse die - worth $300.
Aug Draw first load oijoats into new barn. Rye is still in field. Windows,
dooraand stalls not in yet, nor cupola finished.
30 Sept "Ella''Garlock died to God to live in sin."
Oct Samuel Waterman and his brother-in-law Ten Broeck began working on barn
20 May, 2 weeks later 3 more carpenters came, and the 5 worked there until
17 Oct., losing about 3 weeks because of weather. Waterman got $3.50 per
day, others $2.50 per day and boarded themselves.
Shakers had to make fences, gates, etc. that went with barn.
