13 July Herman Miller came.

15 Aug His birthday - 67 years old.
Began to make cider Aug. 12 and now does 2 each day.
29 Sept Franz Schweiker left for Germanyv .
Took in William Hoyt, Catharine Fry and Jemie^Frisb^this month
Oct Again have only 11 brethren. "Business is going on about right; all who
want work can have it and I am sure we have more than we can do."
He has been running the apple press 2 &3 times a aday all through Sept.,
Oct., Nov. & Dec.; others were drying apples 5 days a week with the new
kiln. By the end of Dec. were finished with drying but had more cider to
do. Made between $800-1000 for making cider for others but had to neglect
some of their own work.

8 June Anna Wolf came to WF to live.
11 June Raised their "new overshot woodhouse", 61 x 40' without any help from the
other families.
2 July President Garfield shot by Goiteau.
25 Jyiya^-Charlotte and Lucy^erner came back to be taken in. Fred Frank died.

Lizzie Alexander came as a candidate.
19 Sept. President Garfield died.
26 Sept Had servicejtor President in the Meeting House. Devastating fires in Mich.
7 Oct Adolph Riemann "left the ship."
22 Nov Charles Joslyn came as a candidate. This brought the number of brethren
up to 10.
26 Nov Eldress Polly Reed of Lebanon Ministry died; Harriet Bullard went from
Wvlt SF to take her place, and Rosetta Hendrickson was madefeldress at SF
and Anna Case as Elder Sister. '
25 Dec Christmas. "Society meeting at CF meeting room and the temporal feast cor-
responded with it. Had nutcakes, oysters, pears, oranges, a large maple
sugar cake, popcorn balls, etc. I had 3 pairs footings, 1 pair mittens
and a handkerchief given me."

17 Jan Franz Muller fell and broke his collarbone.
29 Jan Bridge between Albany and East Greenbush opened; the 3d bridge but the

8 Apr My horses ran away from Charles.
10 Apr My horses ran away from me again.
Charles Joslyn left.
Have at present only 4, myself, and boy Frank to work the farm.

18 May Eldress Paulina^went to Philadelphia probably for the last time, with
Deborah (Knight). Returned 5 June,
