10 Jan "Herman Klages back from Philadelphia without getting his wifeiand son to
come but hopes they will come soon." '
Aaron Sonburg and Herman Klages work in the shoe shop; John Ebisch sizes
broom corn; Henry Kremer sews brooms; Herman Muller gets in wood and I am
the only brother onjthe farm; Peter Schmidt minds the cows; John Decker drives
the team for Isaac Anstatt tc^narket; Charles Pretsch sorts corn; Alex Milne
minds the chickens and kitchen wood.
Feb Begin work on shirts which they get in Albany.
27 Feb He?rman Klages to Philadelphia.
24 Mar Henry Kremer "turns back" (left). Now only 10 brethren and that counts Klages.

Herman has not come back from Philadelphia "and probably never will."

3 Sept AaronvSonburg drowned himself.
4 Sept Help dig grave. Funeral ^at 9, many tears shed, \f those present spoke.
17 Sept To Albany as a witness for Oliver vs. Freligh land line.
19 Sept To Albany. Oliver wonicase, $75 his favor.
22Sept "Calvin^Reynolds is(here and was here a week ago; would like to be here always
but we (doesn't end sentence).
"Not many men came for work, yet more than last year. Two came to join,
one didtiot come back to agreement, the other a Dane we kept 2 days."
11 Oct Peter^Schmidt took 10 sisters to Albany, got drunk and left them.
12 Oct Charles Pretsch wen^to Albany to get the sisters but one of Eastman's men
brought them home.
Peter was laid up about2 weeks after this spree, then went to work in broom
shop.
21 Oct Eleanor Vedder failing fast.
28 Oct Eleanor Vedder died, ae 94-8-12.
Harriet^Jones, a sister from Philadelphia, has come to WF to live.
Miller's store burned at Niskayuna with 1 young horses - arson.
Dec "We have had Coon Diener, Bruno Metzig,Coony Flicker, John Borer and
Christian Erenfried to work on the farm; Chris Marsteller west farm and here;
John & Johnny Schairer on Kerney place, Anton Flicker in broom shop except
in sweet corn time and building a chimney; Hanes Ebisch andfr have worked on
farm and aboy, Richard^Webb, since he/came Aug. 17, now sizes. Coon Diener
also works a greatjdealjatJcarpentering.
