22 Aug. Hard thunderstorm. Elder Giles came to tell of great storm damage at South
Family - broke over 300 panes of glass and lightning struck the cottage they
own on Sand Creek Road.
27 Aug. Elder Isaac took in 10 doz. shirts,brought back 10 doz.
28 Aug. Picked tomatoes.
29 Aug. Put up 22 doz. cans tomatoes.
7 Sept. Sun. We learn from Albany paper that Mt. Lebanon 2d Order had a house destroyed
accidental ly by fire and one of the Sisters quite badly burned. Loss estimated
at $3,000.
14 Sept. & Elder Chauncy Dibble illand not able to attend public meeting. Usual sermon
21 (Sun.) omitted and Elder Isaac read an article from "Shaker Manifesto."
6 Nov. Mary Ann Mathews and Agnes Baker went into Albany to have Impressions taken
for false teeth.
16 Nov. George Price and Caty Ferguson here from North Family "making their Mohawk
Sauce."

5 Jan. Doing fortnight washing. Elder Isaacput up a rubber wringer in wash house to
replace the old press to wring clothes.
21 Mar. "Henry George, one of the trustees at Church Family, is going to the world.
Has lived among Believers about 10 years."
24 Mar. Elder Isaac is appointed as one of the trustees of theSociety inplace of Henry
George. Philip Smith of Church Family and Elder Isaac are now the legal
trustees ofthe Society.
13 Apr. Elder Isaac goes to Rochester on business for the evaporated Apple Co.
17 Apr. Henry Gidley comes to see Hester and to see if our folks wil I takehim back.
18 Apr. Hester goes down to Church Family with Henry Gidley to ask if they will take
him there to I ive.
4 May Francis Schwelzer goes to the world.
25 May Visitors from Mt. Lebanon North Family. Take them on ride in a.m. to "flower
garden and cemetery;" have lunch of "ice cream and cake in afternoon and take
them to visit North Family.
