22 Jan. Elder Isaac and Chauncy Miller go to Albany "to see about our post office.
Some parties wish to have itelsewhere."
1 Feb. Elder Isaac goes with some of the neighbors to see about the new road to run
by the West Farm.
16 Feb. "The Allen woman here from Troy and took her two girls,Louise and Flora/ away."
22 Feb. Move Boys Shop "to Gravel Hill lotfor a tenant house." Boys have been moved
into Brethrens Shop.
25 Feb. Nehemtah White, aged 66, died at Church Family.
27 Feb. Went to Nehemiah's funeral and found that Elder Charles Brackett,-aged 80,
who had "caught cold while shoveling snow" the week previously, had died
of pneumonia the night before so the funerals were held jointly.
On Sabbaths during this winter, they go in morning to Church Family for
service, in afternoon to South Family forsinging meeting.
19 May All our male help go down to Church Family to raise the new mill.
23 May Eldress Alvira and Rachel move out of the Back Room to have it cleaned and
painted*
24 May Elder Isaac takes Eldress Alvira and Rachel to Albany to pick out some paper
for theirroom.
25 May Elder Isaac brings John Dahm and a boy from Albany to paper the Brethrens
and Sisters Back Rooms.
30 May Elder Isaac and hired men raise a barn for horses at new place near Gravel Hill,
31 May John Dahm begins to grain the woodwork in Brethrens Back Room a cherry color.
1 June Dahm stillpainting and papering in Brethrens Back Room, grains "the Creamers
in the Dairy," goes down to Church Family to finish graining their front door.
2 June Eldress Alvira and Rachel have their carpet put down and move back in their

6 June Adam Shire and Jacob Shuler, hired men, buy some furniture that we have to
spare and take ithome.
7 June Mrs. Shire here to look over and buy some more things - 2 feather beds, some
pillows, etc.
14 June Elder Isaac is moved from third floor loftinto Brethrens Back Room.
5 July John Dahm brought his 4 children from Albany to be boarded.
6 July Takes children to South Family who have agreed to board them.
11 July Eldress Alvira starts forPhiladelphia to be absent 2 or 3 weeks and look after
the Colored Society there.
16 July Tilly Quintal's mother came and took her away and her 2 brothers from the
South Family. '
22 July Elder Isaac takes Rachel, Agnes Baker, Mary Drumm and Evelyn Vinneo to
Albany, they take the N.Y. boat as far as Hudson and come back on the cars
and had dinner at Keelers.
1 Aug. Intense heat. Rachel and Ella go to Niskayuna to get Dr. Lothridge to come
and see Eldress Alvira. (She returned from Philadelphia on July 29th and has
a bad cold.)
Elder Galen Richmond, 83 yrs. old, of South Family, died at supper table;
was feeble but in apparent good health and had worked all day.
