10 Jan. Pack tallow in brine and finish up the beef business.
13 Jan. Rachel M. has la grippe or influenza.
15 Jan. Elder Isaac begins thrashing oats.
16 Jan. Two of our hired men have flu. Many deaths reported in Albany and all over
country from flu.
17 Jan, A man, Christian Ross, from Cobieskill wants us to take his 2 little girls and
we agree. Their mother is dead.
21 Jan. Elder Isaac went to Schenectady to get the two girls from Cobieskill--Mary
Ross, 11 yrs. old, and Annie Ross, 7 yrs.
22 Jan. Caty Ferguson and Frieda Sippie came to get fresh beef to make tea for Sister
Annie Case who is sick with quinsy.
29 Jan. May Weingarden's father here to take her away; we do not let her go.
31 Jan. Dr. Lothrldge here to see Rachel who has been sick with flu for 3 weeks.
6 Feb. Elder Isaac takes Lizzie Alexander to Albany to go on to Philadelphia. Tired
of Shaker life. 55 years old. Been here since July 1888.
7 Feb. Elder Isaac started for N.Y. to see about selling sweet corn, died last fall,in
storage there,
12 Feb. Begin to draw ice and fillnew ice house from Church Family pond,
18 Feb. Elder Isaac and men cutting & drawing ice from South Family upper pond.
19 Feb. Some of our men to go Church Pond to draw ice, Ozias Bogart here to ask
Elder Isaac to letone of our teams draw shingles for South Family.

Alvira is making her (a cotton & worsted) one and repairing an old one (of
mozambique). North Family here to borrow ice tongs.
24 Feb. Draw ice from South Family's pond in a.m., men cut and saw wood in p.m.
26 Feb. Elder Isaac takes nine chairs to Elder Daniel to get them seated.
1 March George Price here from North Family to get some butter and we give them also
a crock of sausage.
2 Mar. Elder Isaac, Eldress Alvira and Rachel go to South Family to see Sister Annie
Case. She is still
very weak and feeble from "paralysis of throat;" hasn't had
any solid food for six weeks.
3 Mar. Deborah Knight goes to visit Annie Case but not permitted as she is so sick.
Dr. Lothridge called and told them Sister Annie Is"threatened with paralysis
of the heart." Elder Isaac takes our battery down to her as Dr. Lothridge thinks
it might help if appl ied to heart and spine.
6 Mar. Visitors from Canterbury and after dinner Elder. Isaactakes them to South Family
in sleigh, "the first timethe sleigh has been used this season. " Sister Annie is
reported better today. Eldress Harriet and Isabella Graves "watched with her
last night," *
9 Mar. Sun. Elder Isaac, Eldress Alvira and Rachel go to see Sister Annie; Eldress Caty,
Julia M, and Sarah Neal come from North Family, and Elder Josiah Barker
from Church Family, but she was not able to see anyone.
13 Mar. Sister Annie stillholding her own but not out of danger yet. 35 years old today,
Elder Isaac takes her some oranges for her birthday.
30 Mar. Elder Josiah here to learn us some of his new songs.
