1 April Eldress Alvira and Harriet Jones go to South Family to see Sister Annie and
sing her a song that Harriet dreamed of hearing her sing.
3 Apr. Elder Isaac goes to South Family and "shingles off Sister Annie's hair."
6 Apr. Sun. Very fair and pleasant, grass beautiful and green. Saw a little grasshopper on
the walk as we go out tohorse block to go to meeting.

Eldress Alvira setting hens for hatching and cleaning the hen house this afternoon.
Elder Josiah comes up this afternoon. We have singing meeting and learn some
of his new songs.
23 Apr. Eldress Alvira taken quite sick last night with bilious attack. Dr. Lothridge
here this a.m. and says "she is threatened with typhoid fever."

2 May Bigfire last night in West Albany. Burned quite a number of cattle sheds and
barns and large amount of hay. Elder Isaac went down to West Albany in a.m.,
came back and took all the men and teams back to get hay that was wet by
water put on fire.
3 May Sat. Elder Isaac, men and teams spend all day at West Albany, drawing hay and
stacking to bring home at some future time.
5 May Elder Isaac and men work at West Albany.
6 May Girls 1 school starts,Sarah A. Neal teacher.
13 May Ella Benedict came from Church Family to get Agnes "to clean a couple of
silkhandkerchiefs."
30 May Eldress Ann and Harriet came to tell them that ^lice Sharp wants to move back
from North Family after summer school is over.
Eldress Alvira and Rachel clean their clothes room and black their stove.
Eldress Rosetta brought Sister Annie Case up fora short v i s i t .

1 June Sun. Meeting. Two men attended "said to be reporters for an Albany paper."
2 June Elder Giles brings a letterfrom North Union, Ohio, telling of an indendiary
fire thatdestroyed about $40,000 of theirproperty. Set by Archibald La
Fontaine "a professor doctor and Shaker."
9 June No school this week. Sarah Neal attending Teachers Instituteat Knowersville.
10 June Paul Breitkrenz goes to the world. Came here last Oct. 26th from Lebanon
2d Family.
16 June Visscher Lansing from Lisha's Kill came to get the census reports from all the
families.
19 June Elder Isaac and all but three of our hired mendbo to a farm owned by South
Family to help raise a new barn.
20 June A brother and two sisters from South Family, Lebanon (Henry Mantle 81 yrs. old,
Louise Rice 81, and Ann Eliza Chapin 41), and a brother and 2 sisters from
Groveland (Elder Alexander Work, Elizabeth Sidell and Ella Winship) came to
Watervliet Church Family.
21 June Elder Isaac goes to Church Family, brings visitors to West Family in a.m., takes
them to North Family in afternoon,
23 June Elder Isaac and hired men working on the roads.
24 June " H " " . Groveland visitors and
Watervliet Ministry go to Lebanon.
25 June Eldress Caty brings meal of strawberries "to pay for kindnesses we have
extended to her the past few months."
