26 Dec. Isaac home before breakfast. Giles comfortable.
27 Dec. Snow is deep. Church Family hired man comes about 7a.m. for Isaac. Giles
Is "rapidly fail ing." Elder Josiah came up between 11 and 12 forour horse to
go to Albany for the doctor. Giles dies about 2 p.m. 75 years old.
Isaac comes home at 4p.m. and says Ministry want him to start atonce for
Mt. Lebanon. He leaves at 5 p.m. for Hancock, will go on to Lebanon the
next day.
It blows and snows all day furiously, we have meeting at home.
Elder Isaac returns. Two sleighloads of Lebanon people come in afternoon,
they will stay at Church Family. Mt. Lebanon North Family elders are staying
at South Family. Elder Isaac goes to Church Family to help get things ready.
30 Dec. Families meet at Church Family in meeting room at house for funeral at 9 a.m.
Two sleighloads arrive from Albany with brethren and sisters from Enfield, Ct.
and Hancock. Funeral lasted two hours.

8 Jan. Margaret Carter's father here to see her. Walked all the way from Saco, Maine.
20 Jan. Isaac takes Eldress Alvira and Alimra Teachout to Albany to buy a Brussels
carpet for sisters room at the Office. They bring it home with them.
21 Jan. Two men put down the Office sisters'carpet.
23 Jan. Clear and fair. Elder Isaac takes Rachel M., Agnes B. and the girls outfor a
ride in afternoon, to our farms at Rosendale & Kemey, /
29 Jan. They take in Florence Babcock, 9 yrs. old, brought by her mother.

2 Feb. Clear & fair. "The bear can see his shadow and go back to his den six more
weeks cold weather, so the sign says."
4 Feb. One of men go for Dr. Lothridge to see Elder Isaac.
7 Feb. Isaac better* "comes up to house for a walk."
10 Feb. Men out breaking roads.
12 Feb. Elder Isaac goes to Albany; first time since he was sick.
19 Feb. Elder Isaac attends Farmers League at Minks Hotel.
20 Feb. Dogs get among sheep lastnight, killed two and bit others. Elder Isaac goes
to WatervMet Centre "to see the Town cessor" about it, then goes on to Albany.
21 Feb. Frank Groat and Dexter Miller come to see about the sheep.

7 March Elder Isaac, Eldress Alvira and Rachel go to John Hills, "two miles from here
on Troy Road," to attend funeral of his wife'smother, Mrs, Beach.
11 Mar. Elder Joseph Holden, Elder Giles' successor in the Ministry, came up to
Watervliet today with the Ministry from Lebanon.
28 Mar. The springs and mattresses for the children's and sisters' beds arrive.
29 Mar. Easter. To Church Family for meeting in a.m., to South Family to sing in p. m

26 April John Dahm and his three children here from South Family (a visit).
11 May Warm and pleasant. Cleaning house again with a rush. Left off last week
because of cool weather. Take the creamers out of the dairy, out ofdoors and
*clean the mould and paint off. Take soda to get paint off--slow hard work.
Hester making soap and cleaning the wash house. Elder Isaac takes Eldress
Alvira and Rachel to Church Family to see Chauncy Miller who "is quite bad off
with rheumatism. "
13 May Finish one of the creamers today. Worked at itthree days.
