3 Jan. Elder Isaac goes to meeting, comes home feeling quite sick with a bad tooth
and swollen face.
4 Jan. Elder Isaac quite sick, his face swollen badly.
5 Jan. Elder Isaac no better. A number of the men complaining. W. Leatso goes
home sick, Clarissa Shufelt here to get a tooth pulled.
6 Jan. William Johnson here and winds some mop yarn for Rachel's mops. Oscar
Loeffler and Adam Schairer, hired men, both sick,
7 Jan. So much sickness the men have to stop threshing. Nancy and Rachel steam
Isaac's face.
8 Jan. Dr. Lothridge here to see Oscar, Agnes, Hester, Peter and William.
9 Jan. Elder Isaac better and walks up to the house.
14 Jan. Elder Isaac goes to Niskayuna to pay property taxes.
16 Jan. Elder Isaac goes to Albany In a.m. to get bolts to fix bellon top of house.
The bolts broke and the bell fell on the roof. Elder Isaac, Coon Deiner and
some of the men fix it in afternoon,
18 Jan. Elder Isaac goes to West Troy with Elder Ozias "to get the dog tax belonging
to South Family. "

/ Feb. 10 William Johnson brings a coat he cut for George Price many years ago, he has
made now for Elder Isaac as a giftfrom Eldress Caty.
22 Mar. Coon Deiner quit working here yesterday and goes to work at carpentering in
Niskayuna, Worked here 14 years.
25 Mar. Adam Schairer who has been foreman the past few years quits work here and
goes to Schenectady.
21 April Elder Isaac brings a writing desk and bookcase attached for Rachel and a
refrigerator forEldress Alvira.
24 Apr. Sun. Went to South Family in afternoon to sing and, when coming home and getting
out at horse block, the horses Sam and Prince ran away. Joe Stroebel , the
driver, caught them before they ran far. No one was hurt, but badly scared.

19 May Eldress Alvira and Rachel go to Church Family to see Samantha Bowie, she is
very sick .
30 May Samanatha^Bowie dies, 53 years old.
8 June Take Josephine Myers, 13 years old, on trial .Brought from Schenectady by
her father Thomas.
15 June Masons come to build a reservoir for water near the barn.
23 June Take Jennie Augusta Dillon, 14 years old, on trial .Brought from Albany by
her father.
24 June Philip Smith comes, Rachel and Agnes go with him to Strong's place "to try
and get a cook for Church Family office . "
