25 Oct Masons finish plastering and leave.
30 Oct North Family move into their new house today.
18 Nov "To the old tan house I must go, there to take my station in
learning to weave tape; tho not my own choice but to obey
my Deaconess will and voice, and that I must do with great
pleasure."
19 Nov Brethren kill 14 hogs; have 340 Ibs. of sausage meat.
13 Dec I finish weaving the chair bottoms; 5 pieces & 74 yards in
each p i ece.
18 Dec Brethren kill 2 beef.
19 Dec Brethren kill 10 old hogs and 8 pigs; 250 Ibs. "link meat."
25 Dec Christmas. "As usual we give an offering to the poor."
Eighteen hundred and 39 has fled away

2 Jan Eunice J. and Betsy H. hetcheled some flax and 18-20 sisters
went to carding tow. We card 2 days,30-40 wgt.
17 Jan 30 below zero.
25 Jan Jesse H. comes home something awful tore I ate. Little
Tommy has sealed his fate and to the worid he goes. Elder
Brother and Fred W. went to Albany with h i m .
31 Jan Abigail White of SF broke'.her arm.
1 FEb "This evening we assemble together to be spoken to in relation
to the change that is to take place, Elder Sister Prudence has
requested to be released and Sister Polly has taken her place
and Mor i ah Treadway has gone to Irve with her."
12 Feb Elder Brother and Fred W. went to Albany to see Legislature,
something going on about the bill again.
16 Feb (Sunday) As usual we assemble in Meeting House. The Speaker
of Assembly and 4 other gentlemen attend out meeting and come
i nto the house.
17 Feb Take Ruth Whipple to her mother in West Troy. Can't find her
br i ng Ruth back.
21 Feb Jesse H. goes info Elder's lot, Stanton to Office.
2 Mar Gideon Cole dies and she writes: tULfty-Z-)*!

24 Aug Jesse H, DAB, Catherine V., Ann B and Jennet A. left "for the
salt water called Coney Island." Returned Sept. 3.
18 Sep Physicans are distilling peppermint.
24 Sep Finish spinning the worsted.
17 Oct -some of the sisters went to Stone Shop to sleep.
28 Oct Ephraim Prentiss dismissed from the care of the boys and went
to North Chamber to live and Chauncey Miller took his place.
7 Nov I moved into the Stone Shop, on the 3d story, the NE room which
is for the tape looms.
11 Nov Brethren kill 4 beef.
16 Nov The sisters begin to card tow in the "great spin room."
20 Nov Finish carding tow in evening.
1 Dec Brethren kill 17 hogs and 5 shoats. Have 492 Ibs. I ink meat.

30 Dec Two men come to skin the hogs. They have 17 hogs to kill.,

4 Jan The coldest day we have had.
7 Jan "Very warm indeed for the season. The snow goes off upon the
full gallop; great damage done to the RiverFarm by the ice
damming up the river so that it overflowed to the hill above
Witbecks and the ice took off a great part of the fence. The
Island was all under water to the top of the little shanty. The
brethren went to Witbecks in a boat or to the foot of the hill."
27 Jan A kitchen set up in the Second House in the old dairy rooms
for all the'children to eat. Moriah (Gillet) and Abby (Messenger)
to take the burden.
10 Feb I have knit 1 doz. of work bags for sale and 2 over.
17 Feb C. Copley, Clarissa V. & Lucy Fairchild go on 2 days1 journey.
27 Feb The sisters in general finish spinning tow.
